Many of us have bought dodgy Mini parts over the years. Here's my latest acquisition, purchased by another ausmini member when overseas from `one of the major Mini parts shops in the UK'- I guess he didn't unwrap it then. ![]() Noooooooo, it didn't fit- there's a vital geometric feature missing. Anybody else bought Mini crap lately?? No suppliers' names please, no pack drill... |

Awesome. It that for one of them fangley free wheeling hubs? I don't have any pics to hand, but I recently had a rocker shaft break, also from a well know, very big UK supplier / manufacturer. Most rubber components are not much chop. 'Quality' after market rubber donuts that need repalcing after 12 months ![]() |

Yes. I bough this one, for much money... ![]() But: it's a) too smal and b) it's tapered. And jammes solid on the inner part. You get it over from one side and it starts to jam, but it's impossible to fit it from the other... |

car always garaged. also from key o/seas mini supplier Gone stainless this time around Kiwiinwgtn I had a chrome bullet mirror on Barney, it was brass case, well made. Lasted for years until a hailstorm demolished it. Went and bought another- same box, same Sydney supplier, same p/no, it had rust spots in 6 WEEKS. ![]() Steel case, flash coating of chrome, no copper plating.... obviously asian made. I binned it.... I then bought some Rover style S/S `Tex' mirrors instead, well made, no worries... ![]() |

"No suppliers' names please, no pack drill..." I'd love to name names. Reminds me of defective IE brittle Mini ball joints that almost cost a life. Oh well when someone does die we'll all say I knew they sold defective parts but on Ausmini I wasn't allowed to tell anyone. |

Gee, he or she must be feeling pretty silly right now, whoever this mystery person is and wherever they may live. And probably outraged as well, as they may have bought these in person as part of a boxed kit from said supplier's stand at the 2009 National Mini Cooper Day at Beaulieu in the UK, then brought them all the way back to Oz in their suitcase. But I guess we'll never know who it is... ![]() |
