When knocking out the door pins on the hinges, do you knock up or down?? We have done it once, however cannot remember how LOL

clean both sides and you'll see the knurled end - knock the other end...

(don't try to do it on the car)

They all knock out upwards.... :wink:
I sit them in a piece of hardwood that's been gouged out to shape.

Sorry to seem a bit slow, but how do you get the hinges off of the car without knocking the pins out first?? :?

You undo the bolts and nuts holding them to the door and the body.

Are you knocking out the pin to repair the hinge or take the door off the car?

If your repairing the hinge, as Simon and Doc say, take the hinge off (unless you like doing awkward body repairs).

If your taking your door off, undo the hinge from the door.

Im preping the car for painting and the top pin is spining everytime you open the door cracking the paint.

Both sides only at the top :?

that sounds very wrong indeed... pull the hinges off and put new pins and bushes in them, it's a cheap and easy job and will be worth it
