Beware of low speed grinding/scraping noises (go away at higher speed) if you have discs. My car stopped OK but has been making these noises for a week. The S rotors both measured even thickness all over (0.345") with a micrometer. I then found that the LH rotor had 4 cracks across the surface, 2 of them were right through the rotor and went to the outer edge. It now has 2 new rotors on. Brakes are important for you and everybody on the road, don't take chances. |

Do you know where they came from or manufactured them? I guess that's not a failure that happens with good quality discs under normal use... |

I've seen these types of cracks in rotors, and wear nearly to the point of seperating the disk from the hub. It's alarming. |

Yes I do know, I bought them from my local brake shop, the brand is RDA (they are made in China). The other one has a few short cracks, I'll bit it too. To be fair though, They have done a few track days using Greenstuff pads, but that was years ago. They got pretty warm back then. Stock rotors are all only grey cast iron, I guess I was just unlucky with these ones. I've bought S rotors from Karcraft and others over the years, never had a problem. Like I said- if you see cracks, get rid of em.... ![]() |
