Beware of low speed grinding/scraping noises (go away at higher speed) if you have discs. My car stopped OK but has been making these noises for a week. The S rotors both measured even thickness all over (0.345") with a micrometer.
I then found that the LH rotor had 4 cracks across the surface, 2 of them were right through the rotor and went to the outer edge.

It now has 2 new rotors on.

Brakes are important for you and everybody on the road, don't take chances.

Do you know where they came from or manufactured them? I guess that's not a failure that happens with good quality discs under normal use...

I've seen these types of cracks in rotors, and wear nearly to the point of seperating the disk from the hub. It's alarming.

Yes I do know, I bought them from my local brake shop, the brand is RDA (they are made in China). The other one has a few short cracks, I'll bit it too.

To be fair though, They have done a few track days using Greenstuff pads, but that was years ago. They got pretty warm back then.
Stock rotors are all only grey cast iron, I guess I was just unlucky with these ones. I've bought S rotors from Karcraft and others over the years, never had a problem.

Like I said- if you see cracks, get rid of em....
