as per the title what's the best fitting hi amp alternator from a modern car??

could reply's mention ease of fitment eg any mods and make, year and model number of vehicle it came off.


oh its for fitting to a 1098 in a 72 Clubman

TR - TS 4 cyl injected magnas are good for a 85A unit.
The only thing in you need to space them one way or the other a bit, and minor wiring adjustments.
I also used the adjuster bracket from one and bent it to fit, it has a wind up tension bolt, makes it a bit easier.

My Lucas alternator has a broken terminal from the back of it. I'm toying with the idea of putting something Japanese in it. I'd be keen to see some kind of "how to" or even just photos.

I'm currently running a Nissan Pulsar alternator, but I'd recommend a Nippon Denso unit off a Suzuki/Daihatsu/etc:
