Post subject: | Trim Colour Question |
Apologies in advance if this appears somewhere obvious and I have missed it. I am sure I have seen it somewhere on here in the past but can't seem to find it at the moment and am getting to the point where I really need to order various bits for my interior. The compliance plate on my '64 van says - Colour: 1/Haze Blue/ 3 So my question is, what colour carpet and trim should my van have? Is it possible to tell from the code what the trim colours are and if so, how do you interpret the codes? Thanks in advance! PS my guess is powder blue carpet... ![]() |

Your van would of originally had a grey rubber floormat and most likely grey door linings being a 64 with sliding windows. It never had carpet so you can put whatever colour carpets you like in there. |

I had a 64 Haze blue 850, it had the blue seats with the later 850 striped blue fleck. I think from memory the vans just had the plain blue grey trim (sometimes called cumulus). It would have had the rubber floor mats....nearly impossible to find these days and when do find them in good condition by the time you remove and refit them they will be stuffed. |

Thanks guys, whilst I would like to keep it as original as possible no carpet sounds a bit rough, I think I will go with the powder blue! Cheers! ![]() |

There are a few companies about who will make new vinyl flooring, but they are very expensive, about 2 to 5 times the cost of carpet. |

It seems to be quite similar to the inserts used in the early 850s, You'd need to get a sample to compare it. It would be great if it was a reasonable substitute. Tim |
