Greetings.

I have just finished carpet set in my '64 Mini. I too avoided the old heshan type, as it can hold water, and is very messy. Not to mention lumpy! I used 1/2 inch carpet underlay. It was the yellow type made from chunks of foam moulded together. Very clean and easy to fit.

Alex.
