I spoke to Jess this morning and it is her car, although it is really now the insurance companies.

She is ok, just a bit of bruising. The accident happened 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Cheers
Steve

Poor girl, both her and the car. The car looks like it was well kept.
Hope everything's ok for you Jess.

Poor thing.

Talk about optimistic 'buy it now' price by the insurance company, though. Surely it would only be worth that much uncrashed.

Hi All

Thanks Steve for letting me know this has been mentioned

Yes Cherry and I were in an accident a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the insurance company were unwilling to repair her due to the extent of the damage and the fact that they only repair if they can source brand new parts. Est $5k worth of damage as inner guard and suspension have all taken a hit.

They were nice enough to let me put in a bid to buy her back but unfortunately the most i could afford wasnt enough for them. She then went to auction and has presumably been bought by this person who is now selling her on Ebay.

It absolutely breaks my heart to see her like this and I'd give anything to get her back. Everyone keeps telling me the important thing is I'm ok - came out with big bruising and a few bumps... but its hard to believe that when she means so much to me

What this person doesnt mention in this ad (& is very sneaky for not doing so) is that she is a Write Off. A repairable Write Off.... but given the cost of having everything repaired to QLD Transport standards for re-certifying as roadworthy - all registered and licensed mechanics and panelbeaters - all rust removed - the motor has to be rebuilt etc.... there is NO way i can afford to do that with no guarantee that she will ever be insurable again

I am an absolute mess over this, the accident was my fault - I was blinded by sun and clipped a car at roadworks, which bumpered me off into a head on with another - i was only doing about 20km per hour coz i just turned a corner from the lights. The last thing I need right now is to be given crap about it so I appreciate your kind words :) and i hope that kinda explains why i havent announced it on here yet.

Hey don't feel bad, this happens to everyone... I wrote-off my first mini by being in a fit of rage and turning right at a set of lights without looking - BANG! Straight into the side of a Kingswood ute, game over. :(

Maybe time for Cherry Mk II?

cheers

Jacob

Ow

I feel your and Cherry's pain, my 1st mini went in a similar way (a red and white roundie)

Hopefully someone here will pick her up and give the love needed.

Not at the price that auction trawler is asking!

Hopefully your insurance payout will leave you with enough to get something else decent Jess.

I hate seeing mini's like that, I'm glad you're ok Jess.
I'm thinking that because Jess has been such a great presence here and in person, maybe we could organise something for her, What do you all say to that?

A Rover 1/2 cut would fix that up nicely, and you get the added advantage of a round nose

Very sorry to see your car smashed Jess, but cars are replaceable and Jess's are hard to find. Glad your ok, I am sure another mini will be found for you soon. :D

Sorry to hear Jess. We are glad you are ok though. So really and truly the Mini is only suitable for parts.
