Rear donuts can be used in the front as they are often not as buggered as the front ones, tho late clubbie donuts dont have the hole in them for the compresssion tool so you have to take the top arm out to fit them.

Kinda related:

Is there any way of telling the height of the front donuts without actually checking the donuts? I'm talking about something like the distance between the top arm and the bump stop or similar. Measuring the actual height of the donuts while it's in the car is a bit of a pain.

If you park the car on a flat level surface, the drive shafts should be level too.
