Post subject:  fuel tank removal

A quick question for the dummies like me!
On a roundie, what is the easiest way to remove a fuel tank?
Strap is undone, all hoses 'n' stuff removed.
I cant pull from the top of the tank cause the filler neck is in the way, and I cant pull from the bottom cause there is something in the way. Dunno what it is, but its in the way all the same.
What am I "obviously" missing? :D

There is a drain plug underneath, goes in near the corner of the subframe.
It takes a 7/16 socket to get the bugger out.
Note it goes in at an angle...

It is the drain plug under the tank that is in the way. You need to undo it. (or break it off!) From memory it is 7/16" (11mm)

Hmmmm, I think that it may be the drain plug, goes in at an angle, and can be removed with a 7/16 socket.
Thanks guys! Lets see how many spiders I find!

Haha did the same yesterday and had the same problem but my drain nozzle was not in the mood to be undone so I just bent the hole a bit and hammered it back into place. But as I'm in the process of doing body work to my car that's the only reason I did it.

thro a match into the tank, self removal style... joking. u can push the tank back then take out the grommet around the body to filler neck, this will give u some more wiggle space to get it out
