Post subject:  Ports on a HIF44 Carb

Can anyone tell me what these two ports do on the HIF? As you can see I have the upper one blocked and the lower one (float bowl vent??) runs to my charcoal canister.

Is blocking the top port wrong or ok?

Thanks, M

Just checked mine and my top one runs to my breathers and the other one is open to the air :? . Been running like that for years and no issues...

The one you have blocked off is for engine breathers but it`s not really a good thing,,, i`d leave it blocked off,,, the one with the hose attached is the float bowl breather

Thanks Matt!

Now you've told me I do remember that being connected to the breathers and constantly sucking in oily air.
