Hi All!

Just wondering if anybody happens to know
what size the lower screw is that holds on the steering column shroud on a 67 deluxe.

My mate is restoring his deluxe and the shroud wasn't screwed on and he can't seem to select the right one for the job.

Many Thanks

Regards, Lindsay

They were a Phillips Pan Head 6 gauge Self Tapper, half inch long.

Chrome nickel or zinc plated, or black?

Phillips or Posidriv head? Allegedly (but not by me) there are NO Phillips screws on a Mini.

I tried a half inch on mine and it was too long by far. Fouled the inner column. Had to cut it down.

that's bizarre! I can think of 14 phillips head screws that are visible from the drivers seat

It's a fine line between a Phillips and a Posidriv, when viewed from a few feet away.
The cross shapes are subtly different.

The posidrive screwdrivers certainly seem to be better suited to tightening them up..

Mini king had a box full of the original short self tapper screws as well as the 1/2 inch long variety last time I was there. I grabbed a handful or two as they are useful pretty useful and painful if you haven't enough lying around....

does that mean your "trolling" posts looking for GT so you can intentionally start arguments?
Or are you just stalking him like you used to do to mini maxx?
