Gday!

I need to replace the front seat belts in my mini. I have heard that there are some legal issues with this regarding to the type of seat belt that you replace it with? Has anyone else come across this?

Cheers!

There was a thread here years ago discussing fitment of inertia reel belts in the front of roundnose Minis.
Early cars had weaker mounting points in the B pillar. They were strengthened in the mid-late 60s.
Use of inertia reel belts can `almost' double the load on this top mount in an accident compared to a static belt.
Having said this, I've had 2 in mine (1970) now for years, no problem.
