| Post subject: | How to fit seat adjuster plates |
I have bought a set of seat adjuster plates like these: http://www.minis.com.au/minis/catalog/p ... cts_id=636 Does anyone know which way they are supposed to face, they seem to fit on two ways and I am not sure which way is correct. If anyone has a set fitted a photo would be great

The pointed part goes down inside the existing bracket and connects using the original bolt. The oval hole looks like it might line up. You then pick the hole that suits where you want the seat to be and bolt your seat to the bracket using the bolt with the nyloc nut. The nyloc will allow the bolt to be loose enough to allow the seat to pivot without coming loose and falling out. Pete. |

Also wierd that there are dozens of holes but only a couple you can actually use.

Pete Yes I understand that but as I recall when I fitted mine I could only get the seat bracket to line up with one or two of the holes. Theres lots of holes you can't access. Maybe depends on model of Mini. Anyways...., this is how I fitted mine but it didn't seem right. The bolt to hold it didn't go thru where i expected. And I found if you used certain holes it fouls when you tip the set forward.

The brackets on my old Mini (the one with those extenders) only had one position rather than the three on yours. I just checked my Clubman and it has the three holes. The single hole bracket must be earlier. Pete |

I just checked my Clubman and it has the three holes. The single hole bracket must be earlier. Pete Early cars had a single hole bracket and on 850s they were rivetted to the seat frame. Dumb idea that was...
