Can anyone give me any quick tips?
Ive gotta old sliding window door that i found in the shed, and I wanna keep the glass outa it!

Remove the catches Then buried in the rust, crap and remains ot the flocking of the bottom channel are 3 tiny screws - approx each end and the middle - find and remove by what ever means will do it - bottom channel then comes out and the window with it Good luck |

Dig along the the bottom of the sliding window channel and you will find two or three phillips head screws. Get them out however you can and this is sometimes difficult because the original screws are steel and they rust. You may have to drill the heads off. I use stainless ones at reassembly time. Once the screws are out, slide a flat putty knife under the chrome channel inside the door and move it along from front to back. When it is free, the two windows, the chrome rail and the track will all come out of the door as one assembly. Make sure you have a a good hold of the glass as the whole thing will eventually come out in a rush and a glass can easily drop. I think that's it. Al |

All the above - but prop the door upside down more or less vertically against a wall/bench etc. Then, when the bottom frame comes loose, you won't be trying to juggle two pieces of glass as they rush towards the floor!! Cheers, Ian |
