Hi there,

A friend just bought an 850 ($500) and would like to know more about this little car.

The Wiper Motor says DRBA 5 63 12V

Can anyone narrow down the Build date from this info?

EDIT - More Pictures now in Spotted Section http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=765415#765415. It's a "bitsa" as it has Clubman Seats, Clubman Tail lights, and now has a 998 fitted.

Cheers,

Dicko.

At a rough guess I'd say the later part of 63 or maybe early 64. The cover on your wiper motor is from May 63.

always wondered if one would fit on the back of a ute!

is that a 3 metre tray?

i'd say it's a bargain.

Giday d1ck0, Good to hear from you. Is the blue F100 from around here?
A good way to check the age of the body is to have good look at the glass. It very likely the rear side windows are original to the body. Have a close look at the stamp on the glass. There will be a little tiny dot (can be quite hard to see) above one of the letters. You know the decade the car was made, so count the number of the letters to the dot, eg if it's above the 3rd letter
is was made in 1963 and so forth. You can check all hardened glass on old cars this way. Newer cars have multiable dots so I don't know how that works.
