My indicators are having trouble. My left turn works but the right doesn't unless you hold onto the stem and push down a little. Which I don't obviously want to do because as soon as I let go it stops working. I need a How to .. so I can take the indicator stem / casing off and repair the connections or some advice. The indicator set up is apparently new as was told to me when I bought the car. I did see the receipt for it but didn't pay attention to the date :S. |

I'm having the same trouble with mine. The solution is to open up the steering column cover to reveal the indicator stalk assembly. Then you should see a metal (copper) needle which makes a connection to a copper button when either left or right turn signal is selected. The reason why yours isn't working is because the needle isn't making contact with the cooper button when you signal, but when you apply pressure to the stalk it dose make contact. Simply bend the needle towards the button a little and it should work, just make sure you don't bend it to far or else your opposing side wont make contact ![]() Hopefully that will fix it. |

Make sure when you pull your column cover off to adjust the little copper prongs that you give both the prong and the contact a good clean as a crappy connection between the two usually leaves a fair bit of crud on the contact and copper prong |

Excellent. Thanks worked like a charm. As the inside looked brand new the dust / dirt wasn't an issue.. All connections were clean. It was however the issue that the connectors were not touching where they needed to. After a bit of a bend they work perfectly now ![]() |

Unscrew indicator housing. ![]() Unscrew side mounts. ![]() What the left stem / right indicator looked like before. This was the issue making it not form contact off position. (front view) ![]() Off position. (Top view) ![]() On position. (Side view) ![]() After a little bending and in on position. (Side view) ![]() On position. (front view) ![]() Once completed it should look something like this now. In off position. (Top view) ![]() Then put everything back together. |
