Hi All Happy Bathurst Day!!!!!!!

I'm in an annoying situation. I have pulled my mini apart and reco'd the gearbox, now im not getting a consistent spark. Im currently searching like crazy but not finding much.

The car was running set up as is, the symtoms are,

One spark then nothing.

Spark is on any of the cylinders but only a single spark.

If the central plug is pulled and shorted to body two sparks then a third when turning the car off.

The dizzy is electric with a black module on top.
the coil is a gt40
the starter is lucas (i think) with the attached solenoid.

Sorry to take you away from bathurst but in a real pickle dont have alot of time as i have a thesis due soon unfortunatly,

Thank you so much for your time.

Could be a worn ignition switch.

Ill check it but its consistenty doing the exact same amount of sparks. i just dont get how it was working now its not working. I think i might have busted the little module on the top but i dont know how to test it.

sounds like something trivial like a loose wire or bad earth, or could be the module has given up - if you have another whack it in and try.

I would like to but im at a point of little to no money and no time. I thought there might be a chance that modules could be repaired but starting to think its not possible

At $80+ an hour not many things are worth repairing these days. What Distributor do you have any way? You have not mentioned if it is a Lucas A type being 25 or 23D, 43 or 45D 29 or 59D, Pulsar or an A+ distributor with external Module or something else. I might be able to help with a bit more info.

Ahhh problem solved it was the external module or something like a 9em module on a lucas dizzy. I changed that over and now shes all good.

Thank you all for your help i havent been on ausmini for almost a year due to uni but this really is a great community.

Cheers again
