Just went out to the shed after dinner, thought i would tighten the fan belt as it squeeled once or twice during the dyno runs today. I was thinking to myself, hmmm i might just check the valve stem orings and see if any of them have come dislodged. not sure why i thought that but i removed the tappet cover anyway. and look what i found. ![]() ![]() so looks like the head os comming off now. not happy jan! ![]() |

If that is ALL that is the problem, the spring can be changed without removing the head. There is an adaptor that screws in the spark plug hole for connection to your air compressor. Make sure that cylinder is at BDC before turning the air on. |

interestingly the car drives like there is no problem with it. there is no missing or farting or anything. no noises to indicate something is wrong. |

And get rid of those metro rockers! robbing you of hp. They're the worste, worst than steel pressed... don't belong on anywhere near a performance mini |

Those springs look coil bound (like Lockie's were), I'd put a set of C-AEA526 on it. They have one less coil so can stand up to .495" lift. |

they were part of the cost saving excercise when i built this engine. the cost was supposed to be within reason, but this has blown out of house and home ![]() love to get a set of full rollers but need money for that. these will have to suffice for now. |

woops- I bought a new set recently too, not fitted them yet. I noticed they were 2mm shorter than the same sort I've been running for 50,000 miles. Those ones were Swiss steel. Made where now? I wonder.... but they are Minipares ones. |
