hey folks, another diff question.... 998, lovely head work, medium cam good to 6500ish-rpm 10" wheels on a moke... whilst it will do some open road work, it will primarily be under 100km/h.... would sacrificing a couple hundred rpm be worth the better take off in city driving? Thoughts please! |

3.6 or 3.7 if you`re not on the hyway a lot it is only a little motor so it will need all the help it can get a 3.4 will be boring |

3,7 diff was awesome. but I drove a car with a turbo. holy moly. awesome pick up running 3.5psi. highway sucked though. was loud **high revs** but if you are doing highway or long trips i would go a 3.2 or 3.4 or go a 3.2 or 3.1 with a sc12 or turbo ![]() |

3.6 is good. 3.44 can be good but you need to build the 998 especially to have torque in a certain range. Stops it being quite so 'boring' (Matty!!!) my early cars were 3.7 but one trip from Brissie to Bundy and back cured me of them! ![]() Cheers, Jacob |

3.44 for the highway, nice easy cruisin at 120k, at 4-4500rpm, 3.6+ for poky city traffic you can zip in and out of. |

I'd say in a Moke, use 3.64 with 998, 3.44 with 1098(they have bigger balls) ![]() |

![]() .........and a bigger stroke.. Yeah, I'd go with either the 3.6 or 3.7 considering your not going to do too many highway miles.... |
