Ok. So I've seen custom dash's and Mini's with Starlet dash's .. What other small car dash's do you think could / would / or have seen go into a Mini?

What's wrong with the good character of a mini K dash?

I've seen the following all crammed in a mini before:

Toyota Starlet (as above)
Ford Ka
Daihatsu Charade
BMW Mini
Audi TT
Honda Civic
Suziki Swift (gen 1)

Basically with enough time you can put anything in there. Just depends how much time / money you have.

I know where they have been talked about already.. I was just wondering about other dashs :P .. theres nothing wrong with the stock standard of the original minis'.

Just curious as to what combos.

Would you ever consider putting a mini dash into a commodore? (question asked by my 11yr old earlier this evening .. hense pondering this question)

Those are some interesting and totally different dashes. The mind boggles at how much can be altered these days. I find myself constantly sitting in my mini thinking.. wow .. its just a shell and how much could I do to this. Mini's are like a blank canvas. Guess thats half the appeal. No matter if you do do anything on them or dont do anything on them.. You can still dare to dream and every dream will be different. :D

Only problem is that some dreams turn into nightmares that leave you kicking and screaming all night long.

Yaris and Echo with the centre pod look like an easy fit with a little choppy-choppy.

Cheers,

Personally I'm of the opinion that no dashboard from a japanese car looks right in a mini, particularly anything from the 80s to mid 90s. Admittedly before I commited to my dash I was going to use the dash from a new MX5, but finding one prooved difficult.

Most of my preferences for conversions were from british / german cars like an MG TF, a Smart Roadster or a lotus elise. I even looked at a BMW 1 series at one point too.

I was looking over some video of a guy putting in a dash from one car .. into the cabin of another. To fit it he wasn't quite clear on the methods. Would you more commonly use metal brackets / alloy brackets and fibre glass. ?

Even then I'm not convinced when it comes to painting fibre glass. Could you adhere some form of leather or carpet ? Is fibre glass something that things stick to easy. As I've heard plastic has a major issue when your sticking things to it.
