Problem 1) My second gear pops out of gear when backing off the trottle. It's not the detent spring. Other than the gearbox is very good and I suppose popping out of gear when down shifting is not a bad thing as it will save the crank and gearbox at the end of the day. But it does make driving her quick, harder. It's downright just annoying really.

Problem 2)
I have a noisy lifter. She'll keep going (as all A series' will) for ages to come but since I have it apart I might as well fix this too.

Other than that the engine is rocking along and running superb. So the question is:

Should I or shouldn't I pull the engine out??

Cost of this will be $206 for parts. Of course labour is free

Whilst the RE cam is out get GR to tickle it (ie clean it up), he does this for free if you ask nice.

You mean RE83.
Yeah, if there's enough meat on it.
