I had a look but couldn't find it  can someone post it up please.
Also what are peoples opinions in GOOD tyres for 10x5 mags. I was thinking Yokohamas or Dunlops. I want something that lasts a long time but give better grip than Falkens or Bridgestones. |

Although I'm personally keen on the soft Dunlop D93J

Yoko A008s are great for grip and not too bad for longevity but it depends on how you drive it. They are on the softer side from what ive experienced. Others will be able to give you more detailed information. |

I drive rather hard, I guess I fall in the "fast road" category and I drive as much as I can when it's dry enough so I rake up a lot of K's. |

Forget the A032Rs and the Dunlop Formula Rs if you do lots of Ks. A008s are next best of the rest IMO. I've used em for years since I gave up on Falken FK07Es. May be hard to find, but if you shout `abra cadabra' and simultaneously twirl a dead chook round your head 3 times whilst flashing $$$, they miraculously appear.

Ok so I shoult try for some A008's but if I can't get them than what is my next best option? |

10s are getting hard now- someone said Bridgestone SF226s are not made now, which I guess leaves... bloody Falkens....

Falkens LOOK good and last forever but are um .. skatey in the wet.
I used to get outdragged by pushbikes at the lights when it rained. Pity they don't use their new silica compound like their latest 12s. Bridgestones are a good cheap honest tyre, last well, are OK (just) in the wet. |

Glad to hear that the Falkens are the worst in the wet, as I had them on driving back from Moss Vale to Sydney in July - first wet weather outing. Rain was heavier as got closer to home and sheets of water over the road - it was scary as....... Tyres held really well as I was quite delicate in my driving.....Must be that I used to drive on cross-plys and Aquajets last time I drove a Cooper S in the rain! |

yeah sounds bout right these days. i've been quoted $128 - $140 in the last week, i need new tyres as well. both places i went to also said that my fav bridgstones S226 aren't available anymore, hence my returning to this forum. so choice seems to be expensive soft grippy yokos A008 which i really can't afford because i is a uni student. or slippery (already had a bad experience on) falkens, which i can afford and will probably last till the end on uni, but i do drive a lot, and oftenin the rain, so not sure if i wanna risk my minis life on them. what a dilemma, the S226 was a perfect comprise of both, mid price, mid grip, mid wear. now it seems only a choice of extremes. |

I checked the price at UK Mini Sport. With their current discount deal (which finishes 13.12.10), you can have 4 x A008's delivered to your door for $397.35. Best price I could get in Brisbane from a Bob Jane outlet where I know the owner quite well, was $540.00, (down from $580.00) fitted and balanced. Do the maths....I'd like to support the local guys, but why would you toss money away? A saving of over $100 (take into account fitting and balancing) is not insubstantial, and I believe does tip the scales in favour of patronisng the UK firms, which seem to really look after their clients.... I feel bad that I'm taking my business offshore (I've bought thousands worth from the UK for my Mk2 S restoration), but I object to being sanctimoniously ripped off. Example - A new repo Mk2 bonnet badge from a large Australian mini specialist costs $44.00 plus transport. I can buy the exact same part out of the UK for about $18.00 delivered to my door. Takes 4-5 days. What am I to do? Support the locals? Why? |

I got two A008's fitted for $135 at Stuckey Tyres today. Bob Jane quoted $145 fitted for 4 tyres. So I think $135 is very fair.
