Try this, Engine running, pump up the pedal, put it in gear and wait. If the car starts to move after a bit the master needs work (or the slave has a very heavy leak). |

I had a problem with mine a few years back that sounded fairly similar to yours , one thing a mate suggested to try, was to hold your foot on the clutch pedal and get someone to watch the clutch arm and see wether it slowly creeps back in and sure enough it did. I had already put a new slave cylinder on it , and a new kit in the m/cyl, turned out it had a score mark in the bore of the m /cyl that i couldn't see, so i sent it to a break specialist and had it stainless steel sleeved, as well as my old slave cyl and haven't had a problem since. |

flick the boot off the slave cylinder, if there's fluid in there, replace the slave put your hand up under the master cylinder, if there's fluid up there, replace the MC. Much cheaper to buy new than to resleeve, but depends if you want to stay original |

just checked the master and the slave cylinders that are both new and can find no trace of a leak. i have checked all other conections and can see nothing there also, i know that it has to be leaking somewhere but i am blowed if i can find where. |

The problem sounds like the Primary Seal of the M/C. This is the one that makes the pressure and it's failure will not cause the cylinder to leak externally. |
