so i need to remove the collets and caps from a young moke head to put onto my head that is currently sitting with GR... how does one achieve such a feat?
i dont wanna lug another head into Gray saying "here's those caps and collets you're after" i would imagine some sort of spring clamper mover thingy...?

Have a look at this post :

Nicely done setup there :) I've made a similar compressor using the plate that sits on the top of the front subframe tower.

As for dialling in a cam, check-out the articles on Keith Calvers site, he's got two different methods.

To remove collets and valves from a head the easiest way is to use a hammer and a socket. (really!)
You sit the socket on the retainer and give it a whack and the collets will just jump out.
You only need a fancy tool to reassemble them.

Geez, a tool to take them off in a slightly easier manner only costs 30 bucks...

I wouldn't like to use one at a place of work because they feel a bit flimsy and have problems with leverage, but I've used my one for 10 years no dramas.

Get the smallest one you can - one for a big hulking V8 won't close enough for a tiny Mini head

Yeah, supercrap will get you one.

The handles are short and need some squeezing but it will do what you want it to do. Before you put it on each valve, give the valve a rap with a soft hammer or similar to dislodge the collets. They get jammed in there, and giving them a whack makes the gorrilla grip squeezing on the handle a little easier. if the one you get is a little large like wombat mentions, fit a spacer (a nut will do) between the valve and the whatsit on the long thread as you put it in place..
