How would something that size go on a 1330cc? I assume its a side draft? Ive just come across a pair of them for sale at a good price. Thought one maybe useable? Or is 45mm the way to go? Im not to clued up on Webers..

I cant say Ive heard of that size before? Usually just the 40 and 45. Are these not as common? Parts availability? Would they use the same manifold as a 40 or 45?

They just use a normal manifold, same as a 45mm. Jets are the same other than chokes of course.

So perhaps a worthwhile upgrade from twin 1 1/4's? Any return lines or regulator needed?

Hi there,

42mm Weber uses the 40mm chokes sizes, venturi parts etc, Parts are a bit harder to find but they are a very good carb for the A series, good air speed and fuelling. You will need a regulator no return line needed.

Use the straightest manifold you can fit with an air cleaner. Some minor relief around speedo hole may be required but worth the effort and helps with air speed which means cylinder filling and HP.
Try 90mm Maniflow manifold.
Carb Base Setting are:
34mm Chokes
135 Mains
180 Air
F2 Emulsion
50 Pump
60 F5 Idle
3.5 Auxillary Venturi
Then tune from there.
Cheers.

Thank you for your input! I was unsure if 42mm parts were hard to come by... Thats a little concerning for me.

My basic engine specs:

1330cc
GR head work, port/polish/hardened valve seats/standard valve and rocker gear (2000)
Cam ground by GR (2000) was never advised of the specs. I wish I knew...
3-2-1 LCB extractors
2in straight through system
Re-curved dizzy with Pertronix kit

I run a rotary vane style electric fuel pump. What PSI reg setting is used?

I would be limited to the shortest possible manifold as I have a cover plate over speedo hole which I dont want to change.

Hi there,

Around 4 PSI for a Weber.
You will need a Goosneck type inlet manifold.
That will give plenty of room but restricts flow.
Why not go for a set of 1.5 inch SUs?
Same sort of result and no clearance issues.

Cheers.

I think I might just stick with the twin 1 1/4's. They work. And look nice. Thanks!

I agree if it's the real `Lynx' gooseneck, but A Redline 3005 flows better (137CFM), and still fits in OK. But do just 1 hours work inside it with a die grinder, and it'll flow 25% better again. My Redline (with a lot more work) now flows nearly 200CFM @ 25" vacuum. :D

just what you need for a 7 port, easy peasy, cut some holes in your bonnet for the airfilters :D

I've got this carb on a Warneford manifold. Anyone know what these manifolds are like?

That Warneford is exact same as a Redline 3005. Redline bought all the tooling off Warneford.

Another Redline 3005 I had, see the resemblance?

Thanks Doc! I think that'll just sit with the other "some day" parts for now.
