Idler gear endfloat felt a bit much with my fingers, so I made a jigger up to measure it in situ.
The bent bit of welding wire pulls the gear outwards, the dial gauge pushes it inwards.
After milling .005" off the housing flange, I now have .002" endfloat.
Not quite enough, so I'll now swap the .133" thrust washer for a .131".

Hi Kev

A man of your talents i thought you would make up a bearing idler gear and biff those terrible idler washers for once and for all.

The one I had done by an Ausmini member is awersome..
