Post subject:  Aston fuel cap fitting problems

Hi everyone,

Got given an aston fuel cap as a prezzy, the one that uses standard cap lock. I cant get this to fit as the neck seems to short? Is there anything I cand do to make this work?

Also looking for a good righthand tank in Melbourne?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

The tank hasn't sunk back in to the boot? They do sometimes move a little.

I have tried moving the neck but not much pla there at all.

I have the standard chrome key lock cap, does the cap need to be changed?

When the cap was bought they were advised will fit all classic mini's as you keep your cap?

Is there any other tricks or something i am missing here

Does anyone have one of these caps on there car?

Any feedback appreciated

Thanks

try and push your fuel tank towards the neck from inside the boot. it may have moved

How long is the tank neck? I've seen different length necks before.
What would normally be done is put in a late model rover neck to body gasket/seal.
The original ones are a bit tall and can get squashed.
