any tips on changing my alternator in my 1970 K from external alt to internal alternator?
reg is mounted up near fuse box

1.pull the multi-pin connector off it (but this is not essential) if you are removing it.
2. connect the existing brown/yellow wire to IND terminal on the alt.
3. tape up the other wire brown/green (was field wire) -not used now.

That's it. Mine's run this way with a Clubby 16ACR alt for years.

Not- if using a Bosch (ex Sigma etc) alternator, there is another wire needs to be run from it to the switched fuse.

i dont need to join or cut any wires at the reg
i have connected the thick brown and the small yellow wire that was already on my old alternator back to new one
that easy ?

Nope, that's it. Good to go, if it's a common Lucas alt.
You only need to cut/join wires at the reg if going from generator to alternator.

If leaving the old alternator reg on the inner guard, the connector and wiring can stay on it, the reg just won't do anything now (as that field wire is off the alt).
