I recentlly thought I was buying NOS parts from ebay UK. I have just compared the parts that I was supplied and my old worn parts. This seller sells rare NOS BMC parts. I'm stupid, learn from my mistakes.

Beware of the seller with a handle that is the engine prefix of a Mk1 Cooper S engine ;)

Graham has found some guys in the UK taking the pi$$ out of the seller.

Hey Ty

Are you sure you have got the right link here, that takes me to a seller that has a user name of guru****, I don't think this is the one you are referring to.

Cheers
Steve

Read Ty's post again Steve
Ty's link isn't to the seller he is warning about. Follow the clues. You can do it.

But always sold with "The BMC bag is excluded from this ouction! "

I must be thinking of the wrong seller.

It is only the items that have many of the one thing in a bag/box that is being sold without the packaging. The items that come one in a box are being sold with the box. This is the case for the seller I have in mine.

Can someone please enlighten me :( I didn't buy an item from the seller I thought it was referring to tonight because of the warning, but maybe I have got the wrong seller :?:

Steve

But then any old box can be "genuine"

Wombat is the only one who worked it out, crikey.
For the others,
The seller is 9fsay from Solvenia.
The guy that I put the link to is taking the pi$$ out of him.
Graham posted this link in the Ebay section of AusMini. That is when things started to ring alarm bells so I went and compared my newly aquired NOS BMC WORKS COOPER MINI selecter forks, nope, they are definety reproductions.
So I got caught. Now I'm warning you guys.

My thread refer's to the p#ss take listing, but it seems the actual guy doing the "NOS" selling may not be quite the real deal?

Sorry to hear the parts were repros TK, I have got close to bidding a few times, I'll beware!

Thanks

I picked up a set or twin SU airfilter bolts off him a while back (the correct ones, not the ones he has now), and he has had some real NOS stuff in the past...but how long can that really last I suppose.

Some of the items I have bought have no box or packet. Some of the items that I have bought have come in a box, the wrong box. :(

I even quoted bad spelling from the MK1 heater knob auction...

Came pretty close to buying some stuff myself awhile back - but after watching and seeing so much NOS got suspicious....
If being advertised as new repro that's one thing but always NOS .... just too good to be true...
