hi, have a 1275 in my van with cooper s head. my engine number starts 12H902 which i believe is a LS1275 motor, it has the side cover plates with a breather off the plate closet to the radiator. is this correct for ls1275 motor ? many thanks jayson |

If it's a 1275 with side covers, it's either a Cooper S block or a Clubby GT. 1275LS didn't have side covers, but they did have a breather on the timing cover and another on the flywheel housing. |

Engine number says it shouldn't have tappet covers. |

Haha... I've seen a 1275 auto with 998 number, Cooper S with 850 number. Somebody might have had a 1275LS and their motor blew up... I'm not condoning this approach, just pointing out it does happen. |

It might be an 1100S motor. You know, the 1100 motor out of a Mini S. ![]() |

A photo showing the engine number pad would be good. You can cover the numbers if you like for privacy. |

It's not uncommon to have the extra head studs drilled and tapped. |
