Post subject: | Looking at a rough idea what my car is worth |
Hey, I think the time may have come where i may need to part with my beloved mini! Its a 1975 Clubman with a recently rebuilt by Graham Russell 1172cc engine with a 202 head, extractors, 40DHLA, New exhaust, 7.5inch brakes, Gaz Shocks with fully adjustable suspension everything, new 10x6 minilites with Yoko A032R, body is in decent condiition with absolutely no rust (the back end of the car needs a little straighten and a coat of paint) the interior is pretty good condition and is all completely original. So what im wondering what would my car be worth roughly? I know its hard to give an idea without seeing the car but this is the 'build thread' http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57602&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 Its not 100% yet that i will have to get rid of it but yeh we'll see how the next few weeks go! Thanks Blake |

I think that 10-12k is probably a bit too optimistic for that car. It sounds awful (and I'm a clubbie owner, so don't shoot me), but roundies are more desireable and it's very rare a clubbie will reach the same prices as a roundie. As for the engine, it may be fresh, but it still isn't a big bore = less money ![]() A body in "decent" condition isn't going to help either.....for 12k it'd want to be very nice. I think you're looking at closer to 7k ![]() |

I reckon about 4-5 maybe 6 . because at the end of the day its a just a cluby with a small bore motor. Sorry.. Its just that generally clubbies/leyland minis are the inwanted brother (i only have the square fronted type so im not having a go at clubbies). But yeah |

It is really hard to hear that after spending a bunch on a new motor and stuff but it is unfortunately true. These cars we love are not really worth much in the big scheme of things. You can build it up, pour your money into it but you will never get it all back unfortunately. |

How about a 'how much is my car worth' sticky... there seems to be a few threads going around asking the same question.... I have a '68 deluxe, strong 1293, megajolt electronic ignition, alternator conversion, no smoke, no leaks, 7.5" brakes, minimal rust (battery box mainly), paint is flat though, I'd have thought 6-7k, but if a clubby with a small bore that requires painting gets that, then a roundy with a big bore must be $xxxx? |

To put it into some perspective I saw a 15 year old Commodore on the side of the road today for $1000.00. I know my 35 year old Clubman is worth at least $5k and would sell if the right buyer came along. ![]() |

Mini's are not a commercial opportunity. Mine is called Moneypit by the Missus and that's what it is quite frankly. Am happy for anyone to get their money back on a Mini, but more often you are dreaming. Short answer, keep it and enjoy. |

Look at as many club magazines as you can find online and compare what Clubbies are on offer with what you have. MiniExperience classifieds??? Advertise as widely as possible (ring all the clubs - they'll run your ad). don't be in a hurry to sell. Here we go: Vic MCC mag last month... Clubman rebuilt 3000 km ago - nothing much extra.. $5500 Clubman LS good condition "sold as is" no rego $5500 Clubman rebuilt 1275, S brakes, nice original interior $7500 Don't forget these are asking prices ..not sold values.. Cheers, Ian |
