When it comes to getting a NSW Blueslip, how much rust is too much?

If a car has a fair coat of patina (*read surface rust) but no actual holes or structural rust is it likely to pass?

I ask this in preparation for purchasing a hoodride-esque car, and wanting to maintain the rat look.

(I know Cam has his rat registered, but i know he's not in NSW)

There is no legal requirement for a car to be bright and shiny. If there's no rust bubbles or holes I reckon you will be right.
PM me and I'll tell you where NOT to take it though!
