Im having clutch issues and i cant trace the problem
'
I got a new .7 thou top Main Cup, and replaced the Push Rod with one without a worn hole through it. I put in a good condition secondary cup rod. Replaced the Master Resorvoir with a new one.

The Main Cup that i took out was flat without return ridges.

Put it all back in, used a clear hose to bleed so i could see the air bubbles, fluid is now clean and no air. Adjusted the 7/16 nut on the flywheel housing.

Still wont cleanly go into first, and reverse grinds like hell before it engages.

Any ideas, flywheel and ring were machined 15 months ago, new clutch plate and diaphram were installed back then, new bearing and throw out piston, new clutch arm around the same time.

Slave cylinder is dry, ie not leaking. Im now lost for ideas on what could be the issue.

Toss that .70" clutch MC away and fit a 0.75" one like earlier Minis had.
These move more fluid, so the clutch works properly even with worn clutch arms and clevis pins.

I had similar issues, try also replacing the top and bottom pins on the arm for starters.

For me that plus the pushrod was enough to get everything working normally.

The slightest wear at each point adds up and is magnified at the other end.

You could also do the pin at the pedal.

Then the theres clutch arm if the ball is no longer round, and the thrust carrier.

Did the push rod on the clutch pedal, the old one had an oval hole. new pin through the pedal too. And now i have done the clutch arm, new pin through that too. also put a slightly longer slave rod on the arm too, about 3mm longer than the old one.

The clutch arm lasted about 2 years. must be cheaper metal, i now have an original 1970's one on there, see how that goes.
