I think I've said this before her but try looking through the shed again but this time with a torch. Only look where the beam is as it tends to focus your attention. Otherwise the eyes tend to overlook stuff because you are constantly thinking "no it wouldn't be there".

Thats my 5cents worth. Good luck.

"Missing" bits can be extremely frustrating particularly when you know exactly what you did with them....

We pull out of Rice Hill, Oregon to make the 450 mile dash to Sacramento, California. Mini warms up and I'm leading the drive at 65/70 mph on the Interstate 5...until I notice "moisture" spattering the windscreen...hold on, it's only on my side...and up the off ramp we go. B pulls his Mini in behind mine.

It's oil, naturally, escaping from the valve cover because the oil filler cap is missing. B and I look all over but can't see it anywhere, so off along the roadway we go to find a throw away tin we can fashion into a cap. Get the perfect aluminum can and walk back to the Mini, where Mrs. B says, "Is that what you are looking for?"

Sure enough the oil filler cap is way down there between the front subframe and the toe board nicely settled in place for the drive.

I was sure I tightened it after adding 1/4 litre of oil that morning...wasn't I?

Thank you Mrs. B.
