Apparently , no one is interested in the History of BMC production in Rhodesia, only 300 MKI Mokes were made , making them very rare, the first 7 or so were put together by hand with brake presses , the following production was all CDK , because of the Government, Police and Military orders they were all made to Military spec. . |

One of the unusual features of the Rhodesian Mokes used by the police was the heightened windscreen to stop their caps blowing off. 
The history of Moke manufacturing in Africa is very interesting. The short wheel base military model is a weird one, and maybe the rarest. My understanding is that only about 200 of them were made by BMC in South Africa. They often show up in old advertising material you see on ebay, but the cars themselves are a lot rarer. 
The photos below were sent to me by the owner several years ago. The side pocket covers have been altered, but you can see the differences to a 'normal' moke.

That grille and sideboxes look to me like the 1st UK Moke prototype that the UK army rejected.
