when you spill butter cake batter on your new engine block, how long can the batter be considered to be still edible? The block has been hot tanked. thanks. ![]() |

Had you sprayed the top of the block with WD-40? That'll be good for an extra few seconds - lowers the water activity and prevents microbes from growing as quickly, if at all. |

Yeah, so!! , are you putting the engine together in the kitchen,?, or cooking in the shed, which one is it ? |

It was oily, but ok. The shed adjoins the garage as it happens. I get to sample the goings on in the kitchen. |

Oh so you were building the engine on the kitchen bench? |

I meant to say the kitchen adjoins the garage (or vice versa depending on one's perspective.) I would like to think that the kitchen scales are in fact the garage scales, loaned to the kitchen for useful evolutions such as cake making. |
