hi alot of people might have seen my mini innocenti.. i have a 1310 engine and i wanted to get some new extractors, due to mine being cracked again.. just wondering on what people have used in thier minis and where i should get some ??? my only issue is now that i want to take my extractors out im going to need to cut my exhaust and find a way fot them to come out what are the ways that some people have put them together without needing to take the engine apart or the subframe???? |

A Maniflow LCB (or the Chinese copy) is hard to beat on a 1310. LCB downpipes can corrode into the Y piece after years of use and refuse to budge, so apply some nickel anti-seize to them on assembly. As for getting the old ones out when rusted, I had to use Mr Anglegrinder on mine.. 
They will go back on, after I replace the short bit of pipe stuck in the Y piece.

I like (and swear by) the Maniflow extractor range. They are well made (UK) and they are nice and easy to fit around where the manifold nuts are etc. You should be able to get them anywhere starting from around $200 up in Australia from almost any mini parts place. |

Some people here got them from Northern Mini Parts in Vic, they should also be available from Mini Spares at Padstow (Sydney) as NMP owns em. Not sure about price.

No I don't think so. But Maniflows are cheap now (even at Kc) with the good exchange rate. |

I've got a set on my 998 clubby, but I think they leak a little (it's a bit noisy and you can see the smoke coming through the y piece when revving. What do people use to seal these properly? I was thinking of cutting the slots a little longer so the pipes can be clamped tighter. |

Not sure about price. I got mine from NMP, I walked out $165 poorer.. but they were the last ones there at the time and Andrew didn't seem to know what they were  Worth a try in any case.

Back pressure just robs power, from any engine. Either freeflow or LCB works fine on a 998. Maniflow LCB work well on a 998, great on a 1098, or 1275 or bigger. I have a set on the 1412 also. [edit] for max HP on a smallbore though, you can't go past Russell Engineering's Supa Pipes (3 into 1s) |
