what`s involded in converting from rod change to remote ? is it worthwhile ? many thanks jayson |

It will involve changing the whole gearbox over and even Axles Brackets Drilling holes. and lots more. Is it worth it? Your Call. Not something you do for the fun of it. |

It's not hard at all, as far as fitting to the car goes. If you use your pot joints (swap your diff into the remote box) the only mod needed is drill 3x 5/16"dia holes in the tunnel to mount the rear remote bracket. When done you can throw away that silly cylinder head steady bar and bracket that rips holes in the firewall- it's not needed. ![]() |

Yeah and if you really want, get a quickshift kit. There are ones (I think they are minispares... I'll check tomorrow) that aren't dear at all and they take about 20min to install with your left hand. The one I'm reffering to just changes the fulcrum in the shifter so that the throw between gears is shorter, and unlike some on the market, it doesn't push the gear stick over to one side causing the selector forks to rub and wear out on the sides of the synco hubs. |
