I have new carpet in my Mk1, the centre panel lifts at the firewall (near the passengers feet) and folds back on itself. I was thinking about adhesive velcro tabs, what do other people use?

I have some mates that are auto retrimers and they just glue the carpet to the underlay!

Take a trip to your local!!! You cant beat a professional. Thats why they do a trade!

this.. works fine for me, even with a myriad of cables and tubes (stereo, megajolt) getting in the way, carpet stays put.

you can get industrial heavy duty adhesive velcro strips from hardware stores.

I don't run underlay though.

If you don't expect to move the carpet any time soon, go get a tin of contact adhesive gel. It won't move...
