Just noticed the two new rubber brake hoses are different lengths. Brought years ago (installed - not used - taken off to do the drive shafts now I see that one is about 2" longer than the other - are they supposed to be?

Disc ones and drums ones are different- the disc type being shorter. But Mini shops here mostly seem to only carry the drum ones.
You have to be careful how you fit these with discs, or they rub on the tie bars and can wear through.

These have a 2" long sleeve - obviously to protect from rubbing

OK - I installed then with the short one on the drivers side with the rationale that you do more tight left turns than right. However at full right lock the rubber hose is stretched tight - should I be worried about that and replace it or leave as is? (Trouble is it a bugger of a hose to change and if I'm going to do it, now is the time before I charge up the system with brake fluid.)
