Hello All.
A question about seats. I brought what i thought were normal mini seats but when they arrived they have different mounts. It looks like they bolt to the top of the cross member. My questions are what are thet from and has anyone any suggestions on how to mount them without to mutch trouble.
Thank You.

yep all Mini seats are connected by a Pivot on the front of the seat rails to a bracket that is bolted to the front of the Cross Member. Were Rovers the Same?

Yep Pics would help

Mounting to the top could be Moke or maybe late Rover or anything.
Got more info about the seats?, who did you get them from etc and pics will help.

The late Australian seats like the ones in the 1275LS and all the other 1978 cars (and late 77?) were mounted on the top of the box section.

Rover seats mount the same way as their sixties counterparts.
The only seat mounts different to any other mini were the 78 clubbies.
:D

This is how I fitted some to my car years ago. Crude but effective!

Probably better than the stock mounts!
The problem I had was the rear mounts are to far forwards so they carry all the weight when the seats are slid right back. So the front mounts are loaded upwards and tear out of the box section.
Meanwhile the rear mounts collapse from taking the full load.

The seats are great but the mounts are a bit lacking.
