I got this about 10 years ago, on a whim. Cost me peanuts. Want to know if I could use it in a 998 Mini? If not, what are they used in, and how much would you guys think they are worth and more importantly, how saleable are they in Australia? Regards marc ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good for a 998 with a bit of head work and modified cam grind. You should be able to get around $200 ish? |

Josh and I put one on Spiro the Moke (1152cc) years ago, it made 47HP ATW, even though motor was tired. I think is overkill on a road 998 though. (but I run a 45 one on my 1360 & 1412). |

Nah - will work a treat on a 998. Have had one on for years and never missed a beat(apart from some icing when driving across the Southern Highlands...) Get it jetted properly and enjoy the wonderful induction noise. You have the 40 that is the better one to have as it isn't an emissions carb(the D/E/F/G ones have a different progression circuit)however the downside is the idle screws. They are a very very fine thread and jam through dust accumulation. I have dust covers on them to stop this. Good luck. |
