Hey guys my boot floor is pretty shabby.....
the whole spare wheel tub has little pit holes all through it most of which are
right through the panel but the rest of the panel isnt to bad....so i could patch it up with a few small pieces welded in .........BUT....
today i managed to put a screwie through my rear apron into that hollow heel panel bit(rusty)......its not a big enough hole to check for more rust thru but not small enough not to invesigate the entire surroundings(inside the heel panel)...so this swings me toward ripping out the whole boot floor, so i can get in there and have a look and patch up the heel panel........
Now, I've got a replacement panel and I'm thinking its be a ning nong of a job to replace the whole panel as it goes right through to the backseats and joins the rear seam (I THINK :-s ).
Has anyone got any hints tips advice on this matter......
One of the dudes at minisport sa said i was game when i bought the panel
saying its a ning nong of a job..................crap..... what do i do

rear beavers are easy to replace, the replacement panels are shite though and you may need to alter them slightly. if i were you i would just replace the wheel well and the beaver. check the corners of the boot under the tail lights, they usually get nasty

The hole is under the tail light under the bumper on the beaver on the corner type thing.. I might post some pictures to show what i'm talking about
still dont know what to do with the boot floor though

Brace for Subframe mounting holes had rusted out so i removed it and half the the floor underneath tore away in rust leaving another sheet of metal????? weird....

If it were me i think i would just put some patches in

You could cut the patches you need out of your replacememt panel, but if you get it wrong you have wasted the panel. It is a very big job replacing that floor panel. I have nearly finished rebilding the back end of my mini and I am glad its almost finished

Attack it with a wire brush to see how many holes there really are, then go for what looks like the easier option.

yeah after rusty 68's advice and looking at his thread (awesome awesome rebuild wow!!!! well done dude) and a couple of boot replacement blogs I think i'll make up some patches.
Time to pull out the dollies and hammers!!!!

Does anyone know of a cheap and good sheet metal supplier in adelaide????
I have an old bonnet should be able to grab some scrap from that but need some bigger pieces for the spare wheel well
