Where is the best spot to jack up the front using a trolley jack so both wheels are off the ground and high enough to fit jack stands?

Also where is the best spot to put the stands?

Under the subframe near each wheel, you could also get away with the sump I believe.

Sump, as long as youre engine mounts are good

Wouldn't be too sure on the condition of the engine mounts. Wouldn't risk it.

There must be another spot to raise the front of the car so both wheels are off the ground?? Front of the subframe?

I've always jacked my mini's under the sump without any problems, you can spread the load with a piece of wood. The other option you have is to read the workshop manual
which has a diagram of a block of wood that you can make to fit the front section of the subframe. As for the car stands i place them under the subframe ,behind the driveshafts.

heck yeah, I never use the sump nowadays, just causes issues elsewhere on mounts..

Depending on the jack high you have, you can jack on one side,, i generally do the drivers side, and use the area where the subframe T bones just behind the bottom control joint swivel point.. don't do it in the middle or you will watch the frame bend up into the swivel point..

hard to explain but those who have been under a mini just as many times as me should get the drift..

If you jack there, the left wheel will come off high enough to put a jack under, well with my jack it does..

otherwise the next best spot is the tie rod joints at the front, put the jack under them...

I jack mine one side at a time. No trouble at all, and I put the stands right near the back where the subframe joins the body. Slipping them in from the sides behind the front wheels.

No, you will raise the whole front but one side will be higher
Jacking to full extension should allow the stand to fit on the low side

No Mate, its a Mini , you jack up the lhf and the rhf will come up too but not as high

it will lift one side of the car more yes, but it will lift the other side off the ground as well..

If you have a pissy little jack you most likely wont get it off the ground or if you do, it will only JUST be touching the ground..

There is no other way about it if you have a small jack.

You can always do one side at a time.

Whatever you do DONT jack the car from anywhere on the floor, front beam of subframe, or the sections without support.. you will end up bending it and causing things not to stay square..

Just trail and error mate, you'll get it

I don't like jacking via the sump I like using the Subframe. Sump is connect via Rubber Mounts which if cracked could end in bigger problems where with the Subby you have at least 12 Nuts & bolts holding onto the body. But insaying that if you are happy that your mounts are good you can jack it up in one go only .

I jack up from earthier side using the bottom side of the subby where it connects to the bottom arm left to right putting the axle stands under the caste (Tie-rode) mounts"carefully. I have a Inch block of kitchen bench I do the final jack from the opposite side and jack up so I put the axle stands under the same area I was jacking from (Sub frame below the bottom arm)

Be safe if your getting under a car and get Axle Stand and make sure everything is solid
