has anyone put a after market rev guage in there mini and how did you do it cheers in advance

Every tacho you buy should have wiring instructions with it. Failure to wire it the way instructions say will result in Damaging the Gauge permanently. It is very simple if you follow instructions.

Let me guess: obtained a dodgy tacho off someone's mate Guido out of his fully sick Excel? :lol:

Get the brand of the thing and check out the manufacturers wesite for wiring info.

its got red black yellow and green and a extra red n yellow for shift light

My un educated guess would be:

Red: Switched 12v source from your IGN key when in ON position.

Black: Ground

Green: Neg on the Ign Coil

Yellow: Switched 12v source from your lighting circut.

i put in a speco one a couple years back...

i had to get a diode from dick smiths (back when they had electronics stuff)
and wire it into the feed from the dizzy to compensate for some major needle jittering... and this was in the speco instructions for certain vehicles....


my useless fact for the day, but it is still early....
