Post subject:  Overheating and fans

Been chasing an overheating issue on a standard Mini 1100, and find that it has a different yellow plastic fan compared to others I have. The blades have about 30% less surface area. They are notably narrower on the outer end.
All fans are Mowog. The one with the narrower blades is 12G1305, and other I have is a 12G2129.
Both fans have the same number of blades and pitch.
Any thoughts on this?

The wide ones (which superseded the narrow ones) move more air but they bend more..
Even the old metal 16 blader moved plenty of air.
Are you sure it's not a radiator problem?

That's basically the first things to check

Does your radiator need to be cleaned and re-cored ?

Does your radiator cap ( 13lb ) actually fit properly ?

What temperature thermostat are you using ( 82deg is better ) ?

I have the radiator out to double check it. That was when I noticed the different fan. I doubt the fan will make much differance, however I will still swap it over.
