Post subject: | Overheating and fans |
Been chasing an overheating issue on a standard Mini 1100, and find that it has a different yellow plastic fan compared to others I have. The blades have about 30% less surface area. They are notably narrower on the outer end. All fans are Mowog. The one with the narrower blades is 12G1305, and other I have is a 12G2129. Both fans have the same number of blades and pitch. Any thoughts on this? |

The wide ones (which superseded the narrow ones) move more air but they bend more.. Even the old metal 16 blader moved plenty of air. Are you sure it's not a radiator problem? |

That's basically the first things to check Does your radiator need to be cleaned and re-cored ? Does your radiator cap ( 13lb ) actually fit properly ? What temperature thermostat are you using ( 82deg is better ) ? . |

I have the radiator out to double check it. That was when I noticed the different fan. I doubt the fan will make much differance, however I will still swap it over. |
