Heyas, I have a full face celsius water temp gauge that took me some time to get but the mechanical sender is a bit fat for the hole (i bet the adapter thread is wrong too). Would the best option be to drill out the hole and tap it to the size of the adapter, or would it be better to file the sender slightly and get another adaptor? Any problems with option B? Should be able to drill out a little material OK, but don't take too much ast that is the seat upon which it seals. If you're putting in to a 1275 head, you'll need an adaptor to shorten how much of the bulb goes in to the head as it will otherwise foul the casting. |

I had the same gauges in the rally car, the adapter i had fitted on the heater take-off on the top of the head. Fine unless you run a heater. |

I had this problem too, i ended up get a brass plug and silver soldering another adapter to it and all was sweet. I have not gone to electric gauge as everyt ime the sneder unit was undone it would twist the capillary tube and damage it even when being very carefull. electic is much easier. |

thanks for all the helpful input. its going into a 12G940. ill see if i can change the sender to one thats in it now. |
