I have been advised that if I wish to put a 3.1 cwp into my gearbox i will need to grind some bearing carrier ? Any advise or susgestions ? Has anyone done this before ? cheers Jon |

The bigger pinion can foul inside the 3rd motion shaft bearing carrier. If it's a rodchange box it should/might be OK, but all remote change boxes need the carrier's inside diameter increased to 57mm approx. It's a 5 min job in a lathe. ![]() If no lathe you can grind it out by hand, it's only clearance. |

cool thank you the great wise doc. is it g/box off engine job or can i do it carefully through the diff opening ? |

If it's needed, you can get it off through the end cover. |
