10YC/Ta/H1047

It is a Mini K motor from 1969.

10 = 1098cc
Y = Australian
C = Mini K
Ta = 4 speed, remote centre gearchange
H = High compression
1047 = the 47th Mini K motor! The first motor was always number 1001.

A Deluxe should have 9YA/Ta/H and the number should be about 500 higher than the car number. (actually it should say that on the ID plate anyway!)

... but it'll go 10HP harder with the Mini K in it. :P

My sources say that the Clubman Series Engines, each started at 1000, so yours is the 94th :wink:

No. It is a British motor and different rules apply. (actually it is a Cooper S motor so no rules apply!)

All I know is I have 9F/XE/Y55464, it's later than yours (maybe).
They just pulled 'em off the floor and fitted 'em, apparently nobody gave a rat's about keeping S engine numbers sequential with body numbers. :lol:

Don't know what the OzMini info is, but that car could be very close to chassis number YG2S4 1990-2000 Could be July or August 1970.

As the Doc says though, there is no real correlation of chassis to Engine number.

Oh that site, as far as I'm aware, that info came from a NSW Mini Car Club document. It's a bit dated now, Watto probably has a much better list that he is building up :D

Cheers
